I am teaching cultural competence to new nurses. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on the best method to teach this information that would be engaging for the staff. For now, I have developed a general overview on the importance of cultural competence. I also have a few games planned to show how cultures are alike and different. And finally, I have taken about four different cultures and plan to provide information about each of them with case studies for the nurses to discuss. However, if anyone has any other suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it.

You might add a list of resources in your area for various cultures, even places of worship or adult day-care----- If you have time, get some sample foods for snacks or for lunch. Would be fun to have an "around the world" lunch.
