CRNE Exam in January !

Hi! I took the CRNE Exam in June 2004. In preparation for the exam, I bought the study guide from CNO. I found it very useful. The questions in the guide are very similar in format to the ones I saw on the exam. If you did well on those questions, you'll be fine on the exam.

I wrote my exam in a huge room, it kinda freaked me out a little with all the people. Also you are seated pretty close to the person next to you...barely any elbow space. Take a couple deep breaths or whatever that will make you relax. Focus on your exam and not what goes on around you. If you don't know a question, skip it and go back to it when you have time.

I believed you have 3 hours to write each part. 3 hours for Part 1. One hour lunch break. Then another 3 hours for Part 2. I felt I didn't have to rush through the exam. There's plenty of time.

Hi, I am just trying to make additional enquiries into the CRN exam. I am a registered psychiatric nurse practising in England but I am applying to register in Manitoba and eventually emmigrate to Winnipeg. Can any one tell me whether the CRNE is a broad general nursing exam or is it specific to the field in which you work. If it is a broad general exam how detailed does your knowledge of other practises have to be as in England after a common foundation year we specialise in a chosen discipline. Any information would be a great help, I thanks.

I wrote the NEW CRNE June 8 2005. The short answer questions were pretty easy. The first part of the exam was easy. (left laughing) :wink2: Second part... HARD. (LEFT DOUMBFOUNDED). :confused: :idea: The thing that prepared me the most was my preceptorship on peds. No kidding. I passed and am an RN (Real Nurse) :cool: now. There were 25 at my writing centre and only 2 didnt quite make it. I bought the book from the CRNE website and practiced with the CD. No further review needed. Remember, the exam is very broad, so if you didnt do well in something in school, review it. Good Luck.

Thanks for the response, I believe the nursing regulatory body provide international applicants with the resources you suggested to help them in the exam. All the same thank you again.

Hi! Is that CRNE Exam is general thing to take to be registered in Canada? My location is in Winnipeg, Manitoba i came from Philippines registered Nurse I wanted to be Registered Nurse here in Canada?
