I've been reading the ICU book to prepare for my CRNA interviews this fall. However, I don't feel like it goes enough into depth about pharmacology (and that some of the info may be a little outdated). Does anyone have any resources that they used to help them succeed in their interviews? Thanks!

Of the several interviews I did, only one made me go in depth about a medicine. Even then, it was in steps. He asked me about a medicine I work with a lot and I said Milrinone. He asked me how it worked and I told him it was positive inotrope with afterload reduction, then he wanted me to go further and further until I was talking about cAMP concentrations! But for the most part, as long as you have a general idea of what the medicine does and how/where it works, you should be fine.
Thank you for your response. I am just quite nervous about the part where they make you go deeper and deeper. Sure, I could tell you that phenylephrine works solely on the alpha receptors resulting in peripheral vasoconstriction aka increased afterload/SVR. But further than that I am at a loss. I know one of the schools I applied to goes really in depth with their medical knowledge down to the cellular level so I just want to be prepared past the receptors.
