Connecticut or Massachusetts or New York

I've been applying to get into hospitals, already have almost 2 years experience, in home care, I've applied to positions that are not requesting "required: you pick the line" or "BSN required", I have an ADN but I've seen in this forum that even BSNs have a hard time at it.

I really want to broaden and my goal is eventually to be an OR or GI nurse, but I need to get into a hospital to do so.

It's frustrating, supposedly this career was to be flexible, but I've noticed if you don't have experience you don't get in

Is anybody who's tried experiencing a better chance in Massachusetts or New York?

Just to let you know - in MA hospital jobs are hard to get without a BSN and only home care experience plus cost of living can be high depending on where you live.

They always have a bunch of jobs in home care but of course they do not pay as well in most cases and you may not be able to off set the higher costs for living.

NY city has a great VNA - they have jobs and as far as I know - pay well (and good benefits). But cost of living is very high...
