Nurses LPN/LVN

Published

I need some advice. I am an LPN that has been out of nursing for 18 years. I have contacted the board of nursing in Alabama and was informed that in order to get my license reinstated i need 24 ceu's. I know that I can get the ceu's easily but what i need is some kind of refresher course. I have ask everywhere in my area but I can't find anything. My question is do you think i should start over in an LPN program since i can't find anykind of refresher course.I would be completly lost without one. I am 44yrs old. Thank you

No sweat. I came back after a 20 year absence and although it was hard at first (just trying to catch up with all the new technology), it is quite do-able. Believe me, if I can do it, anyone can! :rotfl:

Check with your BON re CEUs; they may be able to refer you. There are also courses you can take at home that count toward CEUs. Check out Nursing Education of America at http://www.nursingeducationofamerica.org. Be sure to verify with your BON that CEUs from them are valid in your state.
