Concerns about nursing programs?

Published

Hi everyone! Well, I'm pretty much "new" around here but I've been a lurker for a long time now, lol. I'm having some concerns as far as when should I apply for nursing school. I am currently living in north texas wanting to pursue my bsn. I've narrowed it down to eight nursing schools that I want to apply to. I'm aiming to apply to those nursing schools before the fall of 2011, but i'm wondering if i get accepted to one of those nursing schools for the fall of 2011 or spring 2012, will it affect how much financial aid i will get since i'm transferring to another school in the fall or spring? i mean, i will already have done my financial aid in february of 2011 and by the time i apply for those nursing schools i will already have used some of my money for my summer courses and maybe my fall. help. :( Well, here's my schedule that I'm looking to go by.

Each school should let you know what the application deadline is....there's really not much of a choice as to "when" to apply.

Your financial aid eligibility will transfer, IF you add the school codes to your FASFA. It doesn't matter how many schools you add to your FASFA....you could have 30 listed there. You can only get financial aid at one at a time. So, when you go to start your program, your nursing school will send you a budget and a financial package....just like your current school did. The budget will be based on that school's tuition and books, so it could be different from the school you're at now. It's unlikely that you'd lose money though.

Thank you so much!
