Competitiveness for Direct Entry MSN Programs

Hi everyone,

I know there are a lot of threads started by members wanting to know what there chances are for getting into top direct entry MSN programs, but my profile (I think) is bordering competitive so I am not sure. I am applying for FNP programs this Fall. I majored in psychology in undergrad, GAP 3.58, GRE verbal 152, quant 153, writing 4.5. I worked in several psyc research labs in my undergrad including one that focused on developmental disorders for a year,I have done volunteer work at a hospital and shadowed an NP but I did that about 3 years ago (I am not sure if how recent the experience was matters or not), currently work as an administrative research assistant in a medical lab. I asked 2 professors I know really well for rec letters and the current Dr. I am working for the 3rd. I am taking prerequisite classes at a local community college and doing very well in them thus far.

I think the weaknesses in my application are my practical lack of patient care experience (most of my previous experiences are research based) and my GRE score. I am applying to MGH, Yale, Colombia, Vanderbilt, and Northeastern.

Any feedback is appreciated
