Hello Nurse friends and soon to be nurse friends. I just wanted to share that our school was selected to take the NCLEX PN 2014 COMP predictor exam. We took both versions the 11 and the 14. Our school requires a 92 % chance of passing to graduate. I scored 99 on the 11 version and a 96 on the 14 version. Here is what I noticed. The content was the SAME! The way they asked the questions were different. For example pharm I tend to do fair in scoring in the 80's generally. Because I don't have a solid content base for pharm, meaning I am used to answering digoxin toxicity questions in relationship to yellow halos and nausea, I got more question wrong on the exam. I don't have enough knowledge base beyond what I was used to studying. I scored in the high 60's on pharm this time. I panicked when I didn't see key words ! So the test was very similar but they way they asked questions required more critical thinking! My score went down a bout 10% from an 85 to a 75. Thought this may help some people curious about the so called NCLEX changes. Its my understanding and now from the changes ATI has made that the content is and always will be the same but the level of difficulty in terms of critical thinking has changed as well as the passing standard. Ill up date when I test in Sept.
