Community Outreach Start Up

I was wondering if anyone has tried to start a community outreach program for wellness education. I am very interested in this. Im currently a personal trainer certified/ Massage Therapist. I know a lot about eating well and exercise. I plan to become a nurse to start a family nurse practioner practice and subspecialize in sports medicine. I keep reading about how much people need motivated and educated on heart attack prevention especially in the african american community. I love to take part in activities such as this I was wondering if anyone knows how to start or has anyone taken part in a program such as this. I would some how like to have people to come and talk to people in the community and have booths and testing by nurses and doctors and other health and fitness professionals. I simply dont want to sit back and wait until Im an RN to do something I want to help now. Especially in the area of childhood obesity too. If anyone has any suggestions or advoce I would greatly appreciate it !!!!
