I want to say a GIANT thank you to every NICU Nurse. I was a 2lb preemie, spent 4 months in the NICU and wasn't expected to live. I'm now a mother of 4 and have had 3 premature babies myself. Only 1 has had to stay in the NICU but that experience has opened my eyes and my heart to everything you guys do. I am pursuing a career in nursing and it's now my dream to work in the NICU. I know that none of you guys have directly impacted my life but I still want to thank all of you. It's because of people like you that I'm here today and that my son is here. I can't personally thank any of the people that cared for me but I know that they gave me a fighting chance. I know that there are other people who appreciate all that you guys do just as much as I do. I've gone off on a tangent but I just wanted you guys to know that you are valued and appreciated.

Its people like yourself that puts a smile on our faces and fills our hearts with love and compassion. It would be a dream come true if you became an NICU nurse. I think you certainly have the yearning and passion for it, as well as having that special understanding and connection.
