Good Evening Everybody,
I was informed of this site through a nurse I know and thought I might give it a shot. Any help given is much appreciated, thank you so much for taking the time to read my post!
I am a senior this year and will be graduating next month (May 2017). From the start of my high school career, I wanted to go to Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona to pursue a career in pediatrics. Super excited for nursing school, I set down my deposit, picked my housing and started picking out all my classes until I was informed and notified this past week that they were censured by the State Board for their Nursing Program. It has brought great fear to me that my work done at Grand Canyon could not pay off when the NCLEX came around. (There has been a decrease in pass rate for the past two years with about a 72% pass rate.) My concern about forgoing this process means that the education I learned doesn't match up to the expectation that is expected of me on the NCLEX or the idea of being a guinia pig. I'm a very intelligent, bright individual who sees light at the end of the tunnel even when clinicals or a concept is super hard to grasp but, I am in need of some major help. I was accepted to Grand Canyon on a full ride academic scholarship which is why my heart has always been into GCU. With what's been discovered, my nurse mentor thought it would be best for
me to look into some alternative options. So, I did so and got accepted to NAU within 2 days and waiting on ASU. I am open to other school suggestions, that is if they are still accepting applicants which might be a little hard to come about as we are almost at the end of this school year for students. Anything helps! :)
I would like to know what your successes at Grand Canyon, Arizona State or Northern Arizona University have brought to you and how successful it was? I want nothing but the best for my future and I only hope to be just like each and every one of you one day. This has been incredibly stressful for me as I don't know what to do but, I do hope that I can find peace knowing where I went to school got me to where I wanted to be.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. Have a wonderful evening!
