CNOR Certification, a Money Grab

Good Afternoon to all,

Today was supposed to be a happy day for me. I was scheduled to take my CNOR exam, I showed up to the facility an hour early. Began the check in process, presented my identification and was told that my last name on the confirmation, differed from what was on my identification. I expected this would happen, so I presented my marriage certificate to fill in the gap. The gentleman at the front desk called Prometric, and what ensued from there was a series of run arounds, differing answers and insults.

I’ll spare you the entirety of the details, but I was told a marriage certificate is not a legal document, and would not be accepted, that I should have used my maiden name. When I explained that I registered on CCI with my married name because that is the name I am under at work, and I agreed when I submitted my application with CCI that I was being honest and accurate, I was told, by a representative at CCI that I “should have lied then” (her words). When I asked what would have happened had I been audited and they saw that my name didn’t match at that time, she told me that it would have been a problem, but since I didn’t get audited, I should have put my maiden name and now I was out of a test instead and it sounded like a personal problem.

Yup.

Now the representatives at Prometric were understanding, and said that all I had to do was call CCI and ask them to update my name and I could reschedule the exam for the next open date in the week or the next week, but when I called CCI, the above discussion was what ensued.

So here’s a tip, lie if you need to when filling out the CCI information. They only want your money anyway.

I paid for the double take, and supposedly can “retest” in October, but this level of disgusting interaction? Hmmm.
