good day to everyone!

I am registered nurse from the Philippines and the US.I have worked as an ICU and Oncology nurse in the Philippines but none in the US.I have a permanent resident visa here in toronto using my being an accountant in the Philippines.I have submitted application for CNO assessment for both the rpn and rn and just received a letter from the CNO. |I guess this is not the result yet but additional requirements. So if any of you have the same experience maybe you can share your inputs here or anything at all related to this topic.

The letter states that I am given 2 options. First is to Submit Additional information, and the second is withdraw my application. Withdrawal is never my option.

Regarding the option 1, the CNO requires: 1) Baccalaureate Equivalency Table (BET)

2) any additional nursing education and/or experience

3)Job Description sent directly from each employer

Regarding this I have several questions:

1) Is this letter something positive that the cno didn't directly give me the instruction to go directly to school and do the bridging?

2) Does this mean I have a chance not to go to school anymore?

3) I don't have any additional nursing education/experience would this be okay? If not, what courses will I take here in toronto to add to my information.

4) How much time do they give to submit these BET and additional information? The letter did state that I should inform them of my decision with regards to the 2 options which is 40 days from the date of the letter, but they didnt state the deadline for the submission of the BET and other additional information.

5) Am I allowed to go to the CNO and talk directly to my assessor?

I would appreciate all your inputs here whether based on your experience or based on the experiences of others or anything at all that you can share here. thank you much!!!

by the way, that post above is for RN assessment only. There is no letter for the RPN assessment yet. Thanks..

Hi mikah, I have same assessment as yours and frankly I dont know how to answer the table. quite anxious about it. U r alrady in Toronto?? Im migrating this year and I have complied to their requests with my verification of employment. Up to now, the BET is still with me trying to answer it. There's a chance that we get accepted by the college if we answer the BET.. its just that I dont know their parameters on approving our application shuch as how many years nursing experience or if it is solely hospital experience. Hope someone can help us figure this out

Oh BTW, I have faxed the option form that I will submit additional requirements. It is indicated there that the option form should be submitted within 40days from the receipt of the letter or else they will continue assessing your application without the BET and additional information
