I like to know of any place close to Salem County, NJ area where there is training for CNA? I have called the hopsital several times but all I get is an answering service with no return call. I have called a few other places with no help. Thank you for any help.

Check with a few nursing homes in your area. Sometimes they will offer CNA training for a minimal fee or even free (if you commit to working for them). Hope this helps....good luck to you!

I know how hard it is to find places offering CNA classes. I think asking around would be a very good idea. thats how I got started. I also called around to nursing homes and they were pretty helpful by telling me other nursing homes that offer classes. try searching through places that offer continuing education, such as community colleges. or technical schools. I know that the internet offers very little info. GOOD LUCK!

If you go to the NJ Department of Health & Senior Services website (they are the dept. that regulates CNAs), there is a list of training programs by county. I checked Salem County, but it says there are currently no programs. Maybe you could check a nearby county? Or try calling around nursing homes in your area to see if they have a training program. (The nursing home programs are not on that list- and I don't believe there is a list of those. It is all about calling around.) I cannot remember the link, but when I was looking for my CNA program I came across a list of all the nursing homes in NJ. I called around to them, but unfortunately there were none with programs in my area. Here is the link to the CNA part of the DHHS website, check around there for some good info:

The list of training programs is on there too, just scroll down. Hope this helps!
Thank you for everyone's help. I called several nuring homes in the area. There is only one that offers the training but the put a hold on the program and do not know when they will be starting again.
I did find a place that offers chha training. Should I start out in this then when the opportunity comes that I can take my cna training? I have been out of work and always wanted to be in some kind of nursing field but cannot afford college at this time.
hey, wht is chha? and good luck to you!
Sorry posting here again cannot find another place to post this.
I started a training program for Home Health Aide certification. Our instructor told us there could be reasons for being denied past due bills for ex. medical bills or taxes that we will not be able aprroved for our certification thru the state board to receive our certificate. She was not sure but know of people for past parking tickets and student loans. Does anyone no if this is true for other bills we might owe? There is a couple of people in the class that is wondering this. I live in the state of New Jersey.
I cannot say for sure, but I do not imagine there would be a problem with that. I am currently in a CNA class in NJ that is about to end in a couple of weeks. I have a couple of student loans from my past degree that I am VERY behind on and a couple of bills that are in collections, and I passed my state background check and finger printing without any problems. I am 95% sure that if you pass that, all you need to do is pass the state tests and you are certified. I don't think there are any other background/credit checks that will come up. I would think if the state was concerned about that, there would have been questions concerning that on the background check form, and there were not. Sooooo, I would assume that those things will not cause any problems, but I can let you know for sure in a few weeks when I go for my certification. Hope this helps!
