I will be starting my CNA courses in about a week. In order for me to get my funds for the program through the city in which I live in I must research the option of two different programs. One program is about 10 minutes east of me the other is about 15 north of me. The first program I came around the instructor seems pretty nice and the program is ran through a church. The thing I dont like is that you always have to leave a message on the voicemail in order to speak to her. Which can seem to be a later problem if I may need a question answered while at home. Also the enterance of the church is very secure in which you can't walk in without having someone assist you into the building. So I can see if your running late or behind everyone will be aware, lol. But the best thing in which I love is that they do their clincials at a downtown Hospital which has a great reputation. Also it is in the department that my mom works. She will be on the 4th floor and I will be on the 9th floor, lol. The scope of the department is med/surg and a skills floor.
The other program which is 15 minutes away is in a building which is alot easier to enter. It also has a number which you can always reach someone even if its not an instructor. They seem to have a little more of a layout including a standard uniform for clinicals required to wear. Also, I believe their clinical location is alot further out. And last but not least the clincials are given at a nursing home which is pretty standard as being the bases. So I feel at the skills hopsital I will learn more. Also with having a clincial in a hospital setting I may have greater chances of getting hired at a hospital once I get certified.
So which program should I choose everyone? What would be your choice?
