CMC/CSC question for critical care nurses!

Published

Hi all,

don't know if this is the correct spot to post this question, but I'm interested in taking the CMC exam and possibly the CSC. Anyone take this who got their CCRN peds certification? I work at one of the top children's hospitals in the country in the CVICU and do care for adult patients requiring cardiac critical care and cardiac surgery. The test plan for the CMC looks relevant to my practice. Is there any harm in challenging myself and taking this exam?

thanks in advance ☺️

Hey! I was looking into taking the CSC or CMC as well. Also a peds CVICU nurse. Did you end up taking the test? LMK

Specializes in CVICU.

Test wasn't too bad if you've got a fairly decent understanding of ct surgery patient care

No harm and its great! just make sure that your experience qualifies you to take the CMC. Crossover competence in a variety of populations will be important if.when you switch out.
