Clinical Nurse Leader at the University of Northern Colorado

For nurses in Colorado considering a CNL master's degree program:

The new Clinical Nurse Leader program at the University of Northern Colorado will enroll its second cohort in Fall 2013. They still have openings for interested students. This is a hybrid program: classwork online as well as classes on campus in Greeley. Some of our students live in Denver, and one student works closely with faculty to manage a staff development job that takes her all the western U.S.

I am in the first cohort. Many of the beginning classes are taken together with students in the FNP or DNP tracks, allowing for more interesting interactions with nurses whose experience ranges from pretty danged new (me) to decades, from ICU & ED to Nurse Family Partnership nursing.

The professors at UNC are outstanding. Experienced clinicians as well as excellent teachers, the faculty works so hard to partner with its students. I read the horror stories from some students on allnurses and wish I could wave a wand that gave them the professional expertise *and* personal support I have received from every professor and class at UNC.
