Hello,
I work in California as a nurse educator and have a question regarding the use of intradermal normal saline when starting an IV. Do we need a physician's order for this, or is it considered procedural, similar to using KY jelly and Betadine when inserting a Foley catheter? I believe an order is required, but I've seen multiple posts suggesting otherwise. Does anyone have a policy or clarification on this practice in California?
