Christus St Vincent, Santa Fe NM ER contract

Specialties Emergency

So, after traveling for 4 years then being on staff for almost 4 years (that's a long ass time for me), being laid off and now doing per diem registry work for 2 months, I'm getting back into traveling (yea!!). I accepted a contract for ER/Trauma nights at Christus St Vincents in Santa Fe, NM. I got a ton of info from the clinical mgr during the phone interview but want to hear if anyone has worked there before and their thoughts about the facility, how staff are receptive or not to travelers...pretty much anything about CSV if you've worked there before.

Thanks in advance everyone!

The staff is fine with travelers. Typically, they just want the patients to get good care. The hospital's recent staffing history is weird, and we almost went out on strike last summer - but none of that will be your problem. There are a number of travelers who come back every couple of years just because they like the locale, and there are some who have signed on as staff. You shouldn't have any problem as far as work relations with other staff goes. Whether or not you like management - well, you'll figure that out after you've been here for a while. For now, it's just good you have a job!
