Anyone have any advice for preparing for this exam? It's only about a month away. I'm getting kinda nervous....

When I took the exam, there were several questions about equianalgesic dosage conversions. A review course speaker suggested that we memorize the conversion table and then write it on our test paper first thing, so we could use it later on during the test.
Good luck!!

hi I am taking it also in March in Philly u too? Anyway I have the cirruculum book and the study book with 125 questions and have been trying to study but I am nervous too, and yes, they say to memorize the equianalgesic chart and know the conversion equation...however, someone from all nurses said they had no drug conversions when they took it...go figure! Good luck, Janie
I have a study guide as well with a mix of multiple choice questions, case studies and pharmacology. I also have the study guide for an online end-of-life course which some of my colleagues said helped them a lot. Do you have that? If not I'll send you the link to the website.
Whenever I look at the case studies I realize how much I don't know... I never seem to think of everything. Fret, fret, worry, worry...
I'll be in Philly too. Going to have to get a room for the night before, I think. You?

HI, I would love to have the site for the on line EOL course and yes the more I study the less I seem to know...even if I don't pass I am learning a lot...and yes, I will end up going down Friday...I am hoping that the exam would be in a hotel and I could just stay there, but that would be too easy...and I am toying around with the idea of going down Sat am very early...I live about 1.5 hrs from Philly...thanks...I also know their is a cd study that NBHPCN offers for about $170? I have forked out enough $ so far! Take care Janie
Hi Janie,
Here's the link for the online EOL course. It was $29 when I took it a year ago. If you want I could send you the study guide from the course, which has all the info... I have two copies. Anyway here's the site:

Thanks for getting back to me...hey are you serious about sending the course print out? I would insist on paying for the postage etc...I feel as if I don't want to put another penny in this and I still will have to pay for the overnight stay if I opt to do that...actually I live in central jersey so I would go down good ol 95! Time is really flying & I am in the middle of training hospice volunteers plus my kitchen has been torn apart for 4 weeks...I see a psych clinic in my future! Take care Janie!
Hi janie
I'd be happy to send you the booklet. I tried to send you a private message without having to broadcast my email address over the internet. See if you can retrieve that msg. I sent it a couple of days ago

Hi
I am in the very early stages of Hospice Certification
I went to the web site you mentioned but didn't see anything
related to Hospice Cert
I have also heard there is a Core Curriculum and study guide that is good as well
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
Marty
Go to the HPNA website. I think you can get the study materials through them. But before you buy them.... see if your agency has them or will buy them for your use.
Good luck! It's worth the effort to get the certification. don't give up....
