Hi everyone! I've been thinking a lot about what area of nursing I want to go into when I graduate (hopefully... ).
Does anyone have any advice????
Thanks in advance!!! :)

I'm an LPN Student and with God's blessing and my perseverance I'll be graduating in September of 2005. I have been out of work for over a year now (due to my hectic school schedule). I saw a part-time "Help Wanted" sign in a Real Estate office window by me and applied. After about 2 follow-up calls and 3 weeks time elapsing I got a call for an interview. Got all dressed up, spent $6.00 in cab fare to get there on time.
The interviewer calls me in and tells me that right off the bat that she needs someone from 9am-5pm Saturdays and asked if I could do it. When I told her that Sunday's were fine but every other Saturday I have clinical committments...she basically shook her head no and stopped the interview. Told me to relay the message to anyone I knew that would be interested. I just asked for my resume back and walked out.
I am venting now, but just shared all of that to say that I've watched my sister and her friends who are RN's and LPN's submit resumes and get call backs sometimes within the hour. I feel so forlorn now, it brings a nasty taste to my mouth to remember the endless times I've went on interviews in the paste (before nursing school) hopeful to "get picked" but walked out defeated with a hunch back. I hope and pray that I finish this journey in my life, pass my boards and never have to face such spirit crushing interviews again.

Maybe God has something better planned for you after you graduate. Obviously with the schedule challenge it wasn't meant to be. Hang in there, there's something better awaiting you!
