Cheating on final

So I am flabbergasted right now. First I will give the background.

This girl, I'll call her "Ann" is in my study group for GOBC1. A couple of weeks back she told me how 'smart' I was in chemistry, and bla bla bla. Well a few days after that was our 2nd test. The morning of the test "Ann" sat next to me, she never does. I thought it was fishy so I never spoke a word to her during the exam, and made sure she couldn't see my scantron. A few classmates asked me why she sat next to me, which I had no reply. After that test, our instructor emailed all of us our grade, along with a spreadsheet that would tell us what we would need to get on our Final test in order to get an A,B, C etc. So tomorrow is our final. After class today, a group of us, "Ann" included was discussing what we needed to get in order to get an A. "Ann" needed 24/40 to get a C in the course. and a few others needed 30/40 for a B and me and another girl needed 33/40 for an A. So after every started to go there separate ways, "Ann" approached me and asked me if she could copy my answers for the test tomorrow, and that she would even PAY me. I was shocked. I told her NO. she then went on with this guilt trip, that she needs to pass this class, and she doesn't want to have to repeat it. I then expanded on my NO and told her that I refuse to jeapordize my education for her, I work/study to hard, to agree to cheating and possibly face been caught and thrown out. She then was offering more money. I had to then explain that despite how much she intends to offer the answer is still NO. She left pretty upset. I am shocked that she had the nerve to ask. No real point to this just 'venting' !

well, "Ann" decided to sit next to me again today. Did I mention that the only days she has sat next to me is on test days? But it bothered me all night, so this morning I got to class early and told our professor, although I did not give her name, he thanked me and said he would keep an eye out for the cheaters. Well, needless to say that when "Ann" walked in and decided to take the long journey passed her "usual" sit to come sit next to me, it caught the professor's eye, and he smiled at me. So I feel better knowing that I did the right thing, and I did not even have to name anyone, but he still knew the person, due to her choice of sitting.

That is great that your professor caught this! Do you find it weird that "Ann" chose to sit next to you AGAIN, even after you told her no??? She sounds very bold, stupid AND insecure. God help her future patients!

What this girl did was absolutely wrong and you were right to report it to the prof...

But, on an aside from that.... Even if she cheated her way all the way through NS, she would never pass the NCLEX!

This "Ann" is completely ridiculous! I don' understand how people think they can not make any effort to study and ask someone who has spent the time needed to study and has sacraficed going out, seeing your kids, working less hours, losing sleep, whatever it may be to achieve a good grade - but then to help them. It seems people like Ann really don't think anything is wrong and she could go all the way through nursing school (if she doesn't get caught) and never even feel bad or disappointed in herself - that makes it even worse. Karma does come around sooner or later.

well good, i am glad he noticed. I am glad you told him too. I hope you did well on your test!

Yes, she is very bold. It took everything I had not to accidentally trip her as she passed my seat.

Our final exam grade was posted and I achieved 36/40 securing my A for the course. I have no idea what "Ann" achieved, but I shall see on Monday, when GOBC2 starts. If she isn't there that means she didn't get her C. :)

Congratulations, both for your "A" and for alerting the teacher to the situation.

Congratulations on your A for the class! I really hope Ann bombed the final, or that your instructor gives her a nice fat "0" for the grade.

Wow, so glad that she got caught! I can't imagine having a nurse take care of me who couldn't pass nursing school! Worse, what if she was taking care of my child? *shudder* You should be proud of yourself for standing up and telling the prof
