Hi everyone! I graduated from a school in Puerto Rico (accredited by the NLNAC) and took my NCLEX last Friday for the Wisconsin BON. I passed (yay!), so now I have a WI RN license, but I live in AZ and it's not a compact license because of that fact. I went through WI first because they only wanted ONE form and 75 bucks--that's it. Arizona wants an education verification, TOEFL English test, etc., and it's going to cost around $800 to do that. I have been working at Walmart to make ends meet, so getting an extra $800 is NOT going to happen any time soon. However, it's so frustrating knowing that I have an RN license and I can't use it. I'm stuck making $8.40 an hour at Walmart.
My question is for the foreign educated nurses living in AZ. What's the cheapest route to endorse your license? On the AZ BON they give you about 4 different companies that you can go through for the education verification. They all look like they cost at least $350 and up. Also, how long did the process take? I'm scared that it's going to take months and months. I just want to start working!!!
Thanks for any help you can give me!
