hello,
i've combed this website for an answer to this question, but i've only found people's speculations instead of a concrete answer.
i graduated nursing school in california with a bsn, but took the nclex early to get a job right away and as a result only sat for the non-graduate rn license instead of the graduate rn license. ca is the only state that offers this type and i've heard over and over that it can be difficult to transfer to a non-ca state with this type of rn license to work (brn: "transferring to another state with a non-graduate status has proven difficult for many applicants. in most cases, it is better to wait and receive your degree instead of being denied licensure in another state or having to explain your graduation status for the duration of your rn career.")
my question is: is there a process to follow or paperwork to file with the brn in ca to change your license status from non-graduate to graduate? has anybody ever done this or known an rn to do this, and how you/they did it? i have the bsn, the degree is conferred... it would seem to me that this should be simple, yet the brn website offers no information on this and my inquiry to their licensing department has yet to return to me with an answer.
thanks so much for your help and input!
