Hello all,
I really need some advice here. I just graduated from chamberlain w my BSN. I started jan18 and got student loans to pay. In may18 I received a scholarship from my employer and notified chamberlain of this. At that’s time my loans should have been adjusted, from what I know now, but we’re not. Idk why. During my time at the school looking at my student acct I was always in the negative in my favor, they owed me, and every 8 week session they sent me a refund check. My employer for whatever reason did not pay tuition until Jan19. In January they sent me a check for around $4,000. And then my employer paid them. Now they are sending my loans back to the department of education saying I was not elegible for that much since I got the scholarship. And that Che k they sent me... well they’ve charged it to my acct now. I should not owe anything to them. They awarded me 23,000 in student loans. My program was roughly 18,500. They kept 5,500 in tuition and sent me 7,000. My issue with this is that they are the ones controlling my loans and disbursing my loans. It is their job to get this rt. I told them about this scholarship, and they should have adjusted accordingly in May when they were notified. I don’t believe this is rt. I think they messed up and I do not know where to turn to figure this out. They are not forthcoming when I call. They do not admit this mistake on their part and idk what to do. I live in myrtle beach and the school is in Illinois so I can’t just go to the fin aid office. I don’t know if this is something I can handle legally. Please help!
