Hello,
I am currently trying to decide between attending Chamberlain College and the Cal State University here near me for my RN to BSN program. I've looked into the accreditation of both; regional and CCNE accreditations are held by Chamberlain & the CSU- so there's no difference there. I am aware that Chamberlain is a for-profit university owned by DeVry, however the fact that they had an accreditation made that part of it not matter so much when considering it. I'm also a VA student so the cost plays no effect in my decision because either school I decide on will be paid for, so that is not a deciding factor. I am purely trying to decide now based on the curriculum offered between the schools.
My thinking is Chamberlain, because why take more classes if I don't have to, and it's a much faster way to get to my BSN. HOWEVER, I don't want to make a mistake and choose a school that's curriculum is not up to par either, and that's why it's so much shorter.
I have enrolled in courses at CSU already- because it doesn't start until September. I would choose this school because it's more widely known. Wondering if someone could help me decipher the curriculum. The only difference I can really see if that the CSU adds a public health and home health component. I'm already working as an RN, how important are those classes really?
I've attached the requirements for both in a chart I made in PDF form.
