chamberlain (CA) or marymount (VA)?

Published

Hi! So I got accepted into Chamberlain at Irwindale campus (new one) and Marymount University in Virginia. Tuition$ wise, they're pretty similar from my calculations but I'd be finished with my BSN faster than Chamberlain if I were to go to Marymount (15 month program). I already did a lot of prereqs for Chamberlain, so it'll probably take me about 1.5-2 years to finish. Ideally, I'd like to stay in CA but IDK...heard so many horrible things about chamberlain. Any advice? Is it hard to get a job if you went to chamberlain? Any advice is appreciated thank you!!

Hey there,

I am not a nurse yet and only about to apply to nursing school so my answer obviously won't weigh as much as the nurses that can chime in here.

However I also have the same concern but from all my conversations with nurses I have met, everyone seem to say the same thing. A RN license is an RN license. I don't think employer care too much where you get it from so long as it is accredited and that you have your RN license.

By the way, side question but would you mind sharing your GPA/stats? I am looking to apply to Irwindale as well but don't know kind of grades they are taking. I know in Sacramento a 3.0 GPA is required minimum. How about Irwindale?

Hi! Thanks for your response ?

Irwindale has a 3.0 minimum too. I got in with a 3.2 GPA and a 92 on the HESI.

Sorry for reviving the thread but I have another question.

You said you got accepted to both the CA and VA campus right? Did you apply to it separately (with different counselors/advisors?). Did they know you applied to both program at once?

I am waiting for my application result for Sac and I am thinking about applying to another campus just as a back up so I make sure I start in Jan no matter what. Was worried it may backfire but wondering how your counselor took it when we applied to both chamberlain campuses?

I think you're confused. I only applied to ONE chamberlain campus, which was the irwindale one. The other one in Virginia is a DIFFERENT school.
