Congrats Marcie! Must be a great feeling! I actually want to apply this summer so hopefully I get in (fingers crossed). How was the HESI exam? Is it true that its easy to get in? That's what I heard. Good luck with everything!
The HESI was fairly easy, mostly 8th grade level stuff. As far as getting in, all they pretty much look at I think is your college GPA, HS GPA and your HESI score. All of mine were pretty high so I'm not sure where the cut off is. Good luck to you!

I will be starting Spring 2012 at the Addison location also! But I am starting with the third semester of the first year since I have most of the Gen Eds completed. What semester are you starting with? Maybe we'll still have some classes together. :)

I am going to chanberlain for the spring 2012 and also starting with their third semester. anyone going to new student orientation tonight? I am excited to meet everyone! :)
Orientation mostly went over everything your adviser talks about. When you first arrive you sign in with your adviser, get a shoulder bag with some information packets, a t-shirt, plastic cup, and a license plate cover. All with the Chamberlain logo on it. Some of the advisers and clinical coordinators gave speeches and then they showed a video with students opinions of the program. At the very end they asked for questions from new students. At the end you sign up for clinical orientation. It ended an hour earlier than the scheduled end time. It gave everyone a good opportunity to meet new friends too.

Hi Everyone,
I am a new student at the Atlanta Chamberlain campus..we are the first class to go through this program here in Atlanta. I am about to finish my first semester, and it has been incredibly difficult. I have been struggling with my Pathophysiology class and was wanting feedback from other Chamberlain students who have made it through this class. Does the school actually adhere to the 76% cumulative exam score policy to pass the class?? There are several of us who it does not look like we will make this score. Our grade in all of our projects, case studies, etc are A's, but it is this cumulative test score that may cause us to fail the class. Please help...I am beside myself.
Thank you,
Stressed out BSN student in Atlanta.
Yes the school does adhere to the policy about having a cumulative 76% on exams and will not round up grades even if you have a 75.9% on an exam. The instructors have been extremely helpful at making themselves available to students who have trouble obtaining or maintaining the cumulative grade. The instructors usually require students who fall at or below a 76% on an exam to schedule a one-on-one appointment with them to assist them in achieving a higher score next time.

It would depend on what classes you are taking. If you are taking general education courses then it might be possible but because it is an accelerated program it makes it harder to have time for other classes. If you are taking NR222 or above I would not recommend taking summer classes as you will need to dedicate a lot of study time to these classes to maintain a 76% on all of the exams as well as working on group presentations and papers.
