Any info on NC schools?

  1. Hi everyone!
First off, I'd like to say what an excellent resource this board is. It's kept me up at night! I am currently a ADN student working towards being a CRNA! I am interested in programs in NC, and would like to hear from anyone who has been there, done that. I am looking at UNC-Greensboro, UNC-Charlotte, and East Carolina University. I am especially interested in hearing from ECU students because that program is brand new. Duke, I don't know, I get a headache just looking at their program costs!! lol... I would appreciate any help! Thanks, and good luck on finals to all the students!!

Jen, when I was searching for jobs I talked to the head guy at ECU and he told me how there program was set up and I was very impressed. He said that you get to actually do your classes with med students and work on cadavers in the science lab and it is state of the art.

They also seem to have great clinical experiences along with patient clinical instructors. They let you get your hands in everything. Also to note ECU is not new to having students in clinical cause another school farmed their students out to ECU for clinicals but when ECU starts their own school those students will not be there.

My wife was an OB RN at ECU and she loved the place... the nicest people you will ever meet!!! Cost of living is DIRT cheap.

Don't know much about the other places, Lee.

    Thanks for your reply!
The majority of my nursing instructors got their BSN and/or MSN from East Carolina, and they all have nothing but good things to say about it. The low cost of living is attractive, as well. Have a good weekend! (Is it too early to say that? Ah, who cares!)
