Centura new grad residency Summer 2021

Published

Hello,

Just wondering if anyone has heard from Centura yet regarding the new grad residency Summer cohort?

Hi!

I was emailed by a unit almost two weeks ago, had an interview last week, and I just got an email yesterday - unfortunately I did not get offered the position ?

But it was great interview experience...and further along than I went with UCHealth's residency program, where I was not contacted at all.

Did you complete the four references for the skills survey and the Pymetrics one way video interview?

Best of luck to you!

Hi carrie bee ?

Sorry to hear you did not get offered the position.  Kudos to making it further along in the process than at UC Health (I didn't even apply there). Which hospital and unit did you interview for?  Do you know if there is a possibility of other units at Centura still hiring you?

I did end up getting contacted by a unit - I'm very interested in inpatient psych - and just had an interview at Porter today for it.  We'll see how that turns out....fingers crossed!

Congrats on getting an interview!! Especially in your unit of interest, that's awesome. I hope you get the job.

I interviewed for ortho/trauma at Penrose (I'm in Colorado Springs, btw). About other units possibly hiring me - I was curious to see if others have had more than one interview through the residency program. I am hoping I still have a chance, but I'm not getting my hopes up because I think offers are extended by August 6th.

I'm still going to try to keep the faith! LOL

Just an FYI to all considering Centura....

I did end up getting offered the position (still deciding....), but they attached a 2-year contract to the job offer.  One of the main reasons I was considering Centura is because they did not require a two-year commitment - I think it was the only hospital system in the Denver area not requiring a 2-year contract.  So much for that.  Maybe I'd stay that long anyway, but commitment scares me!  Not sure what I will do....

Just curious if you were contacted about the job. My wife applied and got an interview but still hasn’t heard back from them. I would think they would at least send an email saying if she got it either way.

allisonplong,

Hi! ?

What unit was your wife interviewed for? I know depending on the unit manager, the process might be conducted differently.

In my case, what happened was I interviewed for ortho at Penrose, the hiring manager told me that he would contact me by email the following week whether I was offered the job or not. I think he may have forgot to contact me, so I emailed him the following Thursday and he gave me the sweetest rejection ever (not being sarcastic, it was the best let down I could've had).

BUT he did say that he would've offered it to me had their been one more spot... so I got ahold of him again a couple weeks later to let him know I was still looking for a job. He was extremely helpful and put me in contact with ortho at St Francis. I was offered a job there and accepted. ?

I'm not sure when she had her interview, but If it has been a while she might want to reach out just to see what they have decided. If this was through Centura, she probably has an account where she can visit the dashboard and view the status of any jobs she has applied for.

I hope that helps!

Hi, curious about how you got your offer from Centura! Did you get a phone call from them before they emailed you the contract/offer? Just had an interview on Friday and currently super anxious (it's Tuesday). TIA!
