Greetings! I would love to hear from Indiana CNSs! I am an adult/geri CNS student, hoping to continue working in the ED, but as a CNS/APN. As a young "nursling," I grew up in an environment saturated with APNs --it was quite awesome. Today, I am back in Indiana, and especially where I am now, APNs in general, but ESPECIALLY the CNSs, are scarce. So, where are you?! Please, drop me a line. I have questions for you.

:up:what is your specialty?

:up:how long have you been a CNS?

:up:where did you go to school?

:up:what is your daily routine like?

:up:from what "sphere" do you operate mostly?

:up:are you seeing a CNS resurgence?

:up:what advice do you have for a CNS student in their last year of school (4 classes left!)?

:up:I've had some great dialogue with an Illinois CNS, who functions like an NP...do you ever function like a NP? Would you like to? Do you know of any CNSs who do function as an NP in Indiana?

:up:how would you advise me to go about making my practice in an area where there are no CNSs, and there are not any CNSs very close by?

I could go on with the questions, but I do not want to dissuade you from responding.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Thanks!

Whats APN and CNS?

I haven't checked the other board, but you are probably better off posting on Indiana Nurses. All of us are still in the nursing program or trying to get in :)

APN is "advanced practice nurse." CNS is "clinical nurse specialist."
