Central Florida CNA Classes

Hey I took a class at CNA Inc. You can do a google search for them and should get the website ( I don't have the info anymore) anyway I did it through them and passed my state exam but it all depends on how you learn.

Did you have any experience/training before you took the class?

I am a secretary and want to change to CNA then do my RN -- Are you working now and/or are you in school to advance your nursing career?

Nope I had no experience but it was all hands on so that helped it stay in my brain. Also I studied the book a lot before the test and practiced on friends for the clinical part. I also am going back to school for nursing next year so it just seemed the best start. I just passed my test 2 weeks ago and have been applying EVERYWHERE since so hopefully I'll have something in a bit. Let me know if you need anything else.

I just got done with class at Florida Medical Prep in Leesburg it was AWESOME Ray our instructor was amazing I totally learned tons! They have like a 99% passing rate I haven't put in my application to take the test yet (have to come up with the money first) but I LOVED this school. The class was $300 but you also have to pay seperate for your exam and also if the job you want requires a BLS certification.

Did you decide if you were going to go to Orlando tech yet? I was thinking about doing the CNA Inc. also. but will be starting O-tech in January. I think the first 6 weeks they teach cna things. How has it been trying to find a job?

Hi almostthereMHM. I probably wouldn't do the cna Inc thing if I were you. When I talked to someone on the phone at Orlando tech they said you could sit for the CNA exam after your first term/semester. Unless you just want to get a head start or a job before hand. I was actually waiting to get a job to see what kind of hours I would be working before I applied. Now that I have something lined up I plan on going down there in the next week or so to get some info. I'm sure I'm too late for the spring but maybe not for the summer!

Can you tell me how was this program, I'm thinking of registering in January but I want to know how your experience was first. I'm thinking of getting the cna certification and then volunteer in a hospital so I can get some experience before going to nursing school. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Hi yayagig. Well I was a little reluctant to take the class because its so short and I hadn't heard much about it but tried it anyway. Everything is hands on and they show you how to pass the test exactly. The instructor I had was really good and then the next 2 weeks before my test I just kept practicing everything. Passed on my first try as did the other girls in my class. I think it depends on how you learn and how your study habits are but I liked it. My biggest worry was that maybe I wouldn't get a job because I didn't have any real experience nor did I have a real class with clinicals but that hasn't been a problem at all. I had a few job offers in about 3 weeks. If you want anymore info let me know. You can PM me or whatever. Good luck!
