I had a good humored elderly patient who took her time thinking over my offer to hide her dozen or so morning meds around the room on Easter morning...kind of like an Easter egg hunt, but with colace - which do ironically look like little red candy eggs. How 'bout you guys? Anything special you like to do with/to your patients on the holidays????

We had one of our ER docs bring his guitar and we went around and sang Christmas carols to our patients. :Melody:

At the community health center where I used to work, we used to have an Easter egg hunt outside the Thurs before Easter. All the kids would get there around 5pm or so, we'd have snacks, they'd get goody bags & prizes, and our dentist (tall, rather large, goofy man) dressed up as the Easter bunny. We split them up so the little ones (3 & under) wouldn't get trampled by the bigger ones. Very fun. Helped that we had a BIG front lawn & this was out in the country.
Great replies! I think it's so common for patients/loved ones who are facing health issues to need encouragement to celebrate. Getting them involved in holiday activities or sharing humor seems to make such a positive difference in their lives. Thanks for sharing!
