So how do I start to get CE for renewing my California RN? I have been a RN for a year now for Hawaii and California. I work and live in Hawaii, but I plan to travel to California. For my California RN I noticed I need CE before I renew. I am due to renew in April 2011. Hawaii does not need CE for renewal, so I am really lost. I really need an intro to CE. I went to the California BON website, and the info in CE is vague. I wish they kind of told you what CE were and where to get them. California RN renewal needs 30 hours of CE before but I dont know where to start.
So what is CE?
What is the difference in CE CEU and CME?
What is the difference of credits and units?
Where can I get credit for CE?
How do I know the place I am getting the CE is valid for California BON?
How does California know I took the CE, like how do they keep track?

If this is your 1st renewal, you get a free pass. 2nd renewal will require CE credits. I just renewed mine and it was a simple process which you can do online.

These are some great questions. Did you ever find out the answers?
