CCRN EXAM

Published

Hello all of you wonderful nurses out there. I just passed my CCRN 108 questions answered correctly out of 125. As of 2015, the minimum required correct is 89. I thought my study methods were adequate, but after examinations I realized there were areas that could be improved upon. So, I wanted to share so more nurses would feel confident about taking the CCRN exam. I studied casually for about 4 months prior to examination, but studies seriously for about a week prior. For study materials, I used Laura Gasparis videos and the PASS CCRN practice quizzes with rationale. I focused mainly on cardio as it is the majority of the test. Laura Gasparis videos were the BEST and the PASS CCRN quiz/rational was also fantastic. Many people said they saw questions on the exam that were on the CCRN PASS, however this was not the case for me. I tried to take at least 3 150-question practice tests so I could get an average. I was getting anywhere from 90-112 correct questions. The night before the test I rewatched the Laura Gasparis vidoes as a refresher. The one thing I under estimated was the section about synergy model and therapeutic communication. This was a HUGE portion of the test and I found myself being relieved to get actual critical care questions during the examination, as I was unprepared for ethical/synergy type questions. Laura Gasparis does not go into detail about this topic, so be sure you study "systems thinking, patient advocacy, synergy, etc." I believe PASS CCRN has an entire section dedicated to this. Best of luck to you all. The best part about getting my CCRN really is all the knowledge that I gained while studying, and that really is what it's all about, right?

Aloha and best of luck!
