Hey, any former, current CCP nursing student, I have a question about the health requirements that you have to turn in... I have to still turn my requirement paper in this week, b/c I haven't gotten a few of my vaccines done, b/c I have Ulcerative Colitis. Well, I was gonna get them done, but I just found out that if you have this condition, you should not. I'm gonna call my GI doc tom and have them write a note for me, but does the school actually look into everything, say is I just wrote I got it, but didn't? I have them all done, with exception of 1. Has anyone ever had an issue? Either way, I'm gonna call and get a note, but was just curious, b/c it's just one of the shots (meningit), but the last thing I need is another issue, you know! This disease sucks as it is.
I ask this, b/c I didn't want the shot to begin with to be honest, b/c I'm not living on campus, but after a friend of mine who also has colitis said that his GI doc said to never get the flu shot or meningitis shot (any vaccine) b/c our immune system are already out of wack, this really made me worry...
I did research and it's actually true!!!
BTW, the school does not know I have Colitis... but they're definitely adamant about getting all the shots!!!
Thanks

I'm pretty sure they will call to verify the information, so don't lie. The vaccinations you have/don't have affect your clinical placement. Let the coordinator know your situation in full, they may be able to work with you.
