CCAC PAX TEST

Published

Hello all. Im new to the site. I have a question. The ccac site says that I need a 50 in all three sections of the pax test. Can anyone give me details on what that means. I take the test May 1st and am sooooo nervous for the science part of it. Please help!

I don't know if this reply is reaching you late, but I think that that score of 50 on each section is referring to us having to have 50th percentile or higher on each section; in other words, when you look at your scores, there should be a column that shows you what your percentile is for each individual section. This is based on how many people on average for every 100 who took the same test scored at or below your number of questions correct for that section. A 50 is really just an average score; 50 out of 100 scored below 50, and the other 50 out of 100 scored above 50. To get your composite percentile, the test makers added your total number of questions you answered correctly (of course, only including the mystery ones which counted toward your score) and then compared that number you got correct to the results of the other takers; again a percentile of 50 means that 50 out of 100 scored at or lower than you. If you have a percentile of, say 90, that means that only about 10 out 100 got as many total questions correct as you.

Based on this, it's safe to say that a little fewer than half of the people who took the test will be ineligible for applying to the CCAC school of nursing.

Anyone else take the PAX test on May 22 and awaiting scores?
