Yes interventional cath lab is definitely critical care!

You have knowledge and experience with hemodynamics, ECG recognition and interpretation, advanced cardiac A & P, mechanical circulatory devices, image interpretation and so much more! When bad stuff happens in the cath lab, it happens quickly. A patient who goes into a lethal dysrhythmia, has a perforated ventricle or vessel,  a high grade blockage or requires circulatory support of the mechanical or pharmaceutical variety definitely requires critical care nursing!!
