Hi All,
Thought I would ask if there is anyone out there applying to Case Western? It is the only one I have applied to - for their DNP program.
I choose Case because of proximity and it seemed like a really well run school when I visited, I like the high number of clinical hours - and just received a letter saying they are increasing clinicals by 20-25% in the first and fourth semester.
I sent my application in a month ago, although have still to take the GRE this month! They have received my application and I have been really impressed with their attitude (I was warned Case can be slow and not let you know what is going on), well they have called me to tell me they received all my refs, that they were impressed, they also have called to check on if I have any questions for them, and I have also been contacted by the financial aid office to see if I need any help.
Well, I am really hoping I get in - especially as it is the only place I have applied (a year early, so still need to do pre-reqs, but because I have a biological sciences degree from a foreign university they said to apply a year early, so they could get a transcript evaluation done and see exactly what pre-reqs are required).
So, let me know if you are applying to Case, would be nice to see some others!

I went through Caes's DNP program not to long ago. Finished the RN portion, got work experience and heading back to get my CRNA. Feel free to PM me if you have specific questions about the program. Good choice in programs if you are serious about getting a masters, not a perfect investment for a way to get a quick RN.

A very good choice for your Masters, but just be aware that there are many other choices out there that are MUCH less costly.
After hours and hours of creative number-crunching (I really wanted to attend Case) I still couldn't figue out a way to make it an economically sound decision. It was less expensive for me to move out of state (even though I would have lived at home for free, less than 20 miles away from Case) and attend an equally competent and competative program.
Thank you for the responses. Yes I am aware Case is expensive, however I live nearby with my partner and our child, so moving is not an option for me. Also, with my visa requirements, Case is a good school to go to as it is well known for its program.
Cost wise, this is a huge concern to me because as an international student I am responsible for the entirety of my fees, with no aid. The staff have been very helpful though in helping me get in contact with depts I can be a TA in (I have a Masters in genetics), and will offset my fees against my work. Additionally the nursing school gives you a stipend per year (not sure why they dont just reduce fees!).
At the moment we are waiting for my transcripts, which is taking time because in the UK they are not used to sending them out!
