I have been browsing through these threads for months now. Although you have some curious nurses on the scope of practice, more are complaining about the lack of a job or transferring into a new role.
In this thread, hopefully, some of the more experienced nurses or individuals with backgrounds will provide interviewing and job hunting tips.
I would like to start off by saying: When looking for a new position or you're expected to graduate within a 6-8 month time frame ( with the expected passing of the NCLEX), you should begin your job hunt 6-8 months prior. This will allow your to interview with multiple organizations, and not feel as if you are racing against time.
So often, individuals wait until after graduation to begin their job hunt. This only applies additional pressure to a task that typically takes up to 12 months to fulfill. So, save yourself the headache by applying to positions earlier than expected.
The trait of being proactive is one of the best quality skills to learn as a new nurse, if not human being. Persistence, Perseverance, and Proactive- The three P's to live by!
