thank you for you help,

Although the requirements for each VA's VALOR program may differ, there seems to be one consistency. You must be a current nursing student enrolled in an approved BSN program with an anticipated graduation date w/in 1 year of entry in order to be considered as a candidate.

You explained that you're currently in your pre-nursing phase - as such I would focus my energy on getting a position as a nursing assistant at your local VA. That alone will put you ahead of most of your competition and possibly give you an advantage when you become eligible to apply for the VALOR program.

Good luck

(As a recent VALOR applicant, my knowledge is pretty fresh regarding this topic.)

Thank you for your advice. Do you know the route I should take to be a nurse assistant? Sorry I am unfamiliar with the title, does it take me passing a course or is is simply applying. Again thanks for your help.
