Career Advice for Future SANE in Chicago

Hello Everyone!

I live in Chicago and will be graduating in May with my BSN. I've been searching for information on SANE certification. I am aware that most programs require 2-5 years of practical experience before certification. Though I would love to acquire a new grad position in an ED, I've heard that such positions are hard to come by.

So I was wondering...

Is it true that new grad ED jobs are hard to find in Chicago? If so, what other units would give me a good basis to later get into this field or into an ED after a year of work?

Any other advice for a future SANE?
