Care Plan Question

:confused: I have a question regarding care plans and the LPN(in Ohio)Are LPN's allowed to initate care plans on patients upon admission to a Psychiatric Inpatient Unit?I tried searching on the board of nursings web site but really couldn't find anything about care plan issues.Thanks in advance to anyone who can offer their opinion.

I am currently an LPN in Ohio, and I worked inpatient psych for a little over a year. Where I worked, the RN was responsible for the care plan initiation! You might want to contact ODMH( ohio dept. of mental health), or visit their website. But I am pretty sure it is an RN responsibility. Good luck!-Tara:D
