I am in the process of deciding whether or not to have an ablation done. Because my SVT lasts no longer than an hour and I am asyptomatic, I am hesitant to do it. I can't decide if it's worth taking the risk although if I had the ablation and I would be cured, I would be ecstatic!. I am feeling very anxious because when it starts up, no matter where I am or what I'm doing, I have to hold my breath and at times squat down to get it to stop. Needless to say, this can be vey awkward at times!! I am looking to get any info I can, successful and unsuccessful ablations, or info from nurses working in an ablation lab. I know every individual is different and experiences will be different but how often do complications occur? What is the success rate? I've been told I have AVNRT or a concealed accesory pathway. I am so tired of always wondering whether or not it will start up -it gets in the way of my being able to totally relax and enjoy myself. Thanks for your help!
