Car Stock Storage

For those lucky enough to be able to carry around a large car stock supply, what do you use to store it in your car??? I have a Hyundai Sonata.... so large truck space, but I cant use the drawers that I once used because they are too tall.

I loved these divided modular bins from Joann's!! They come in different shapes/sizes and the dividers come out so you can customize them to fit whatever you want. I had several of them and stored my supplies by category for easy access.

I use modular bins also, I think I got them at The Container Store. I used to micro organize but it got ridiculous, now I just have general categories and it’s still easy to find what I need.

As a side note, how much do you guys typically carry in your car? I have a stock of basic supplies, especially for wound care, some catheters, PPE, etc. but recently I had to laugh when a caregiver walked me to the door and asked if that was my car in front (it was a Fiat, and it was not my car), and he said “yeah I was wondering how a nurse could drive a car that small and still carry their supplies” Like how many supplies does he think we are driving around? I laughed a bit in my head when he said it.

Then last week I had a caregiver blow up at me because the home health sent supplies but the Kerlix rolls were missing. I actually usually do have a decent supply of those in my car but I had just used most of them recently on a couple of other patients and just hadn’t happened to make it to the office the last few days. She went on and on and on about how she couldn’t believe that I didn’t have everything in my car needed for my patients. Does she think I have an operating room in there?

It was just a funny coincidence that it came up twice last week.

I honestly have a rather large car stock. It fills a large tote and maybe half another one. It has everything from cath supplies, a few IV things, basic wound care supplies, even some wound vac supplies. My agency allows us to order supplies and have them delivered to our homes. Only downside of it is that I tend to have to check dates more often.
