Canada LPN to NY LPN/RN

Hey everyone! I’m relocating back to NY state after about 17 years in Canada. I obtained my 2 year diploma in Canada along with additional education that authorizes me to do most other things LPN’s weren’t originally allowed to do such as blood transfusions, etc.

I don’t know if my 2 year diploma would be equivalent to an associates, but are there any associate degree trained RN’s? Or is it fairly uncommon now and bachelors is required. Just curious as to peoples experiences. Thanks!

I am still baffled that the US doesn’t seem vested in making it an easy transition for LPN’s to become RN’s.  It would help alleviate the RN shortage in this country.
