Can a strong TEAS V score make up for a 3.4??

Regarding TWU Nursing:

I guess I miscalculated awhile back & I've been rolling along this semester thinking I had a 3.6-3.7... even after a B in Stats & AP I. I was dead set on making A's in A&P II & Micro this semester. But, working 45 hours a week was a bit much for these classes & I'm going to have B's.

So, I'm looking at first attempt B's in ALL 4 of the classes where a first attempt A is given extra pts. I do not have 1 C on my transcript & overall I'm an A/B student... which brings me down to a 3.43.

I'm not a TWU student & I'm actually coming from DCCCD so I don't think that will look good with these grades.

Will there be any consideration for working so many hours, marathon running, working in a store mgmt position, or any well-rounded attributes?

I take the TEAS V January 19 & after finals this week, that will be my #1 priority. I can't accept anything less than a composite 90 on that. My best friend is a Pharmacist, & I will be leaning on hiim for all TEAS V (Science&Math sections) questions... OMG I'm so freakin' nervous, I am gonna be crushed if I don't get in.

Any thoughts/advice will be taken kindly!

Wow, I've seen posts of "nervous" applicants asking if you guys/gals thought their 3.8 was going to be good enough for admission get numerous replies, & no response for me. LMAO.

So did you ever apply?

It is very hard to say. If you have read previous threads then you know that people have gotten in with TEAS scores in the 60's and 70's, the trend with that is most of all those people who have posted said that they feel their science grades made up for it. I remember reading a thread for those that applied for Spring 2012, a girl made in the 60's on the TEAS but made A's in her first attempts. We don't know exactly how they choose who is a good match but from previous posters we can get a general idea.

Yeah, reading previous postings does kinda help. Everything is in for my Fall 2012 app. I got an 84.7 on the TEAS. I was aiming for a 90 but the element of unexpected material that wasn't in the study guide definitely came in to play. Now I wait until April. Thanks for the reply!

I only got an 80.7, I'm hoping the .4 jump and my science classes save my butt. I was told in my Patho class that the average score on the TEAS has been around 81% although you have to have a 64% to at least be considered.

Mt TEAS results transcript, which came in on the 20th, says the mean score for the TWU program is 70.6% (national mean is 64.3%). I would feel pretty solid about an 81% & good science grades/1st attempt A's.

Well, that's weird, maybe the transcript is way off... I just read on another post that Heather Close said the avg. score last semester was around 81%.

I'm going to assume that the average score of those accepted into the program was an 81%, rather than the avg. score of all applicants.

Hmmmm well I don't feel too bad about my 80.7%, None of my individual sections were below an 80, I hope that counts for something. I read somewhere that they also look for the breakdown scores as well as the overall....
