Your client is receiving 1000 ml. of Lactated Ringers solution IV at the rate of 50 ml. per hour. Your IV drip factor is 20 gtts. per minute.
At how many drops per minute should the drip rate be?
How long will this IV last?
shouldn't the drip factor be 15 gtts/min? I thought that was standard?
The nurse is to administer 0.1 mg hydromorphone (Dilaudid) IV for a client’s pain every 4-6 hours. PRN for severe pain.
What is the maximum dose in 24 hours?
What is the minimum dose in 24 hours if used as ordered?
When the 0.1 mg is diluted in 4 ml of D5W, the total amount to be delivered IV push is 5 ml. over 2 minutes. How many mls. will be given in 30 seconds?
I am so confused. I don't think these are worded very good. Can someone help me figure them out? I would be forever grateful.

hope this helps the wording make more sense for you!
50x20 / 60min = 17 gtts/min?
and it'll run for 20 hours?
max- 0.1x6 = 0.6?
min- 0.1x4 = 0.4?
and you can give 1.25 mls in 30 seconds? is that right?
thanks so much for your help!! :redbeathe
You got it. Good job!
