Can a Lanier Tech LPN do the LPN/RN Bridge?

Published

Hi! I am interested in doing the LPN program at Lanier Tech, and then go back in a couple of years an do the LPN to RN bridge program. Does anyone know if the online bridge programs will accept LPNs from Lanier Tech? I have heard that North GA College will NOT accept Lanier Tech LPNs for their bridge program. I just want to make sure that I am not going to have to do it all over again when I go for the RN!!

I chose Lanier Tech because I understand that the Hope Grant will pay for all of the tuition, plus the location is doable. Unfortunately, Gwinnett Tech no longer does the LPN program. :-(

Thanks in advance for any guidance you can provide!

Not really sure where you got your info but Lanier Tech and NGCSU are sister schools. The majority of their bridge students are Lanier Tech graduates. NGCSU bridge program is actually on the Lanier Tech Forsyth campus. Once you're licensed you can bridge wherever you please as long as you have the requirements met for each program.

Thanks for your reply! You are right; and I think I have figured out where I was confused. North Georgia definitely takes LPNs from Lanier Tech, but they only accept college level course work from COC accredited institutions (which Lanier Tech is not)....so I take this to mean that I need to get my core pre-reqs elsewhere and then transfer to Lanier for the actual LPN program. I found out Dekalb Tech has COC accreditation so I am planning on going there for pre-reqs.

I graduated from Lanier Tech in Oakwood and I'm doing the NGCSU LPN-RN bridge program right now.

I did my core classes at Gainesville State College, and NGCSU accepted them as transfer credits. I'm at the GSC campus for the bridge program, too. They still have the Lanier Tech-Forsyth campus, but they also offer Oakwood. Just in case that's closer for you. :D
