Can I get into an accelerated program as a B student?

Published

Hi! This is my first post and I'm hoping to get some guidance on what my next steps should be. I'm going to be applying to nursing schools soon and am curious how many people got into an accelerated nursing program with mostly Bs?

I have a bachelor's in another field and have finished most of prerequisites for nursing, but I'm worried that because I have mostly Bs that I won't get accepted into any programs! The program at my school is extremely competitive to the point where if you don't have straight As your out of luck. I'm not against going to another school I just want to know if its possible. I'm currently debating if I should take my final two prerequisites next semester.

Thanks!

You'll have an easier time getting into an accelerated program with Bs than you will an ADN program. They'll look at essays and life experience more than other programs. At least that was true for me.

Thanks for the encouragement. I've been a CNA for about 9 years and feel like I have plenty of valuable experience, I can never just those coveted As! I'm just nervous because I hear so many horror stories.

I had mostly Bs and I got accepted to multiple accelerated nursing programs, so yes is the answer to your question. I am an average student and Bs are my As lol but that doesn't mean that B students are not good enough to be nurses. Plus, you have all that experience from being a CNA. I will say Fundamentals of nursing will be a piece of cake for you. Apply to the programs :)
